The time has finally come to review something! Sorry again for the long delay, life really gets in the way.
First off, William Goldman claims that his abridged version of The Princess Bride "the good parts" is an adaptation of a story written by S. Morgenstern. Do you believe that S. Morgenstern is a real person? Why or why no?t Is there really an unabridged version out there?
I loved how the author interjects his own opinions throughout the book, what are your thoughts on this? Did you enjoy this style of writing? Did this add or detract from the story line for you?
What is your favorite part of the book?
Who is your favorite character and why?
How do you feel about Wesley's evolution to the Dread Pirate Roberts?
Do you think the Count was truely interested in the research he was collecting while using the Machine?
Did you agree with the ending of the book?
Please share any other thoughts or comments you may have as well as whether or not you would recommend this book to others.
I hoped you enjoyed The Princess Bride!
Happy Reading,
Becky

Giveaway time
A few months ago I went to an authors night presentation at the Provo Library. The guest author for the evening was Ally Carter who was on a book tour promoting her most recent release, Uncommon Criminals. This is the second book in this series, the first book is Heist Society.
Ally is so fun and energetic and that personality comes through in her writing. I was able to have Ally sign copy that night and now this book can be yours! How do you enter to win you ask? Just post a comment below. The contest closes Friday Sept 23rd at midnight MST. A winner will be chosen at random on Saturday Sept 24th.
To read a synopsis of this book take a look at Ally Carters website. You can also read about Ally's other series Gallagher Girls.
Good Luck and Happy Reading!

October read choices
There is a slight chill in the air in the mornings now and football season has just kicked off. Next week marks the beginning of Fall, one of my favorite seasons. Fall also signifies the beginning of the Holiday season. I have very particular rules about the holidays in my home, we celebrate them all in turn. Since the first big holiday is Halloween I thought I would give you three books of various spookiness to vote on for our October read.
1. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
2. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling
3. Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury
If these seem just a little too creepy for you, don't forget that we will also be finishing up The Count of Monte Cristo through the end of October.
Vote now on your favorite then check back in a couple of weeks to find out which one won.

Goodreads
A couple of years ago I was introduced to a website called Goodreads. I have been hooked on it since then. There are tons of things you can do on here, from managing your own lists of books you've read and reviewed to book giveaways and everything in between. You can "friend" people like the social network concept. It has been fun to see what my family and friends are reading and get their reviews. I have found this a great medium to find out what the latest must read is. This site has also inspired some of my own reading choices the past two years. I don't know when I would have come across the Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley if it hadn't been for my friends on Goodreads. If you love a good mystery and the hijinks of a spunky 11 year old girl these books are a must.
If you don't already have a goodreads account (free by the way) I highly suggest it. Look for me in friends under Becky....photo of me reading Harry Potter :) I hope to have some new goodreads friends soon!
I am planning on taking our little Literary Junkies group to good reads for the monthly book club portion but don't forget to check back here for weekly posts, possible contests and all sorts of other fun things.

Summer reading results fall challenge
Well my little summer reading program is offically over. A big congratulations to
Stephanie and Scott
for all their reading hours!
Since fall will be upon us in just a couple of weeks I thought I would try something a little different. Just about everyone has at least one book on their "must read" list and if you are like me there are many more than just one. My challenge to you this fall is to tackle that list. I would love to hear what books are on your list and why. Keep me posted on what you get through. I personally will continue to knock out The Count of Monte Cristo...the unabridged! I promise we will discuss this one day.
